LITTLE EAR APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM

Since 2015, The Little Ear Apprenticeship Program has offered one-on-one instruction, both in the workshop and in the field, to apprentices interested in learning the art of tuning, voicing, restringing, regulation, and repair.

Customers benefit from more affordable services while apprentices gain the opportunity to hone their skills and learn as they go, gradually working their way up to becoming a full-time piano technician. 

APPRENTICE SERVICES

TUNING: Hiring an apprentice to tune your piano can be a great way to receive a discounted rate while helping someone learn the trade. Apprentice tunings take 2-3 hours, on average. To schedule an appointment with an apprentice, click here!

NOTE: If your piano has not been tuned within the year or is more than 10 cents off, it will likely need a pitch raise.

REPAIRS: Have a sluggish hammer or a creaky, squeaky sustain pedal? An apprentice can help! For larger jobs like voicing and regulation, it’s best to reach out and see which technician would be best for the job and we can help make sure you book the right appointment.
