Mike Buishas - Lead Technician and Tuner

After graduating from Berklee College of Music in Boston in 2010, Mike moved to Brooklyn and immediately began his piano tuning apprenticeship with Eathan Janney RPT. During this time, he also became an associate member of the NYC chapter of the Piano Technicians Guild and passed a series of rigorous written and technical exams on piano tuning, repair, and regulation. Since graduating from his apprenticeship in 2013, he has tuned and repaired thousands of acoustic pianos, fully restored antique pump organs, and also regularly services electronic pianos like Fender Rhodes and Wurlitzers. In 2015, he established the Little Ear Apprenticeship Program which, through weekly meetings on tuning, voicing, restringing, and repair, trains apprentices to become a full-time piano tuners/technicians. In addition to the piano, he plays guitar, trumpet, bass, drums, accordion, and cello. When not playing or writing music, he enjoys reading, yoga, meditation, making ceramics, film photography, and analog recording.

Beth Mirahver - Apprentice

Beth is a multifaceted artist and apprentice piano technician. After studying music education and vocal performance at the Hartt School of Music, she earned a master's in voice with a graduate minor in creative community development at the Mannes School of Music in 2021. An accomplished mezzo-soprano, Beth has sung with ensembles throughout NYC and Connecticut and has performed abroad in Germany and Italy. She began training as an apprentice in October 2022 and is working towards becoming a full-time piano tuner and technician. Outside of music, Beth enjoys reading, baking, horror movies, painting, and collaging. She currently lives in Brooklyn with her fiance and their many houseplants.
